* Hello Charlize Theron ! How excited are you to return to the Fast & Furious “universe” ?

– Actress Charlize Theron: I’m always emotional when I receive an invitation to come back. I like the feeling of finding out what they plan to do with my character as well as the troubles we will face in this new film. It’s great to be a part of a movie franchise that has achieved such great achievements as Fast & Furious. The way the filmmakers lead the story and the characters to the end is truly special. I had a lot of fun experiences playing Cipher.

* Coming back to this movie, is Cipher still a character “above” all his opponents?

– I feel that there are still many mysteries that need to be decoded in Cipher. But I still like to let this character hide behind a veil of mystery. The important thing to do is find a way for Cipher to surprise the audience from one surprise to another, as well as make the characters appearing around her be surprised by her in a way they have never been before.

One of Cipher’s strengths is that she is always a few steps ahead of everyone else. Finding new discoveries is very important for Cipher because she is smart and always faster than her opponents. But you have to do it to make the audience feel excited. It would be boring if she were simply a “know-it-all”. In Fast X , we will see how resilient Cipher is, to the point that even she will be surprised.

* With Fast X , Charlize Theron is no longer the central villain but this position belongs to Jason Momoa. What do you think about his transformation?

– Both Cipher and Dante have problems with Toretto’s family, but Dante suffers greater mental damage. I think that’s what motivated him to do such cruel things. On the contrary, Cipher is more greedy and self-seeking. She is not good at team sports but excels at individual events. Jason and I had never actually met each other until we appeared on the set of Fast X. He’s really adorable!

On the first day, everyone was nervous and nervous. I was worried I might make a mistake, but Jason was extremely confident. He walked into the studio wearing a loose shirt and started reading crazy lines. I’m extremely impressed. I feel like a vintage car, starting very slowly until I step on the accelerator. Jason is not that type of actor. He always appeared with great energy and great determination from the beginning. I love Jason for his humility and closeness. He is confident but not condescending, formal but very sincere. It’s rare to meet such a person.

* What did you do to prepare for the fierce action scenes in the movie? Especially the scene where Cipher has a heated confrontation with Letty (Michelle Rodriguez)?

I really enjoyed the training process to prepare for the action scenes. Luckily, I was able to practice with a team of talented professionals for about 7 weeks before filming officially started. They guide me in everything. Thanks to that, I can understand the unique abilities that the character I play possesses.

When reading the script, there was a scene that I was extremely excited to see if I were in the audience’s position. It was an extremely dramatic fight between Cipher and Letty. She is truly an action hero. What Michelle Rodriguez did with the action was always absolutely authentic, from her body, her eyes and her heart. It was great to do this scene with Rodriguez.

Fans of Fast & Furious are very curious about where the fate of the famous villain in the racing universe, Cipher, will go in Fast X.

* Standing in the position of an opponent, what kind of person do you feel Michelle Rodriguez is?

– Amazing! There were moments when Michelle was about to rush towards me, and I felt panicked. Not because I didn’t feel safe, but just because Michelle played her role so well. Everything is so interesting and Michelle clearly grasps how to coordinate with her co-stars to create eye-catching action scenes that meet the director’s requirements. She is truly unbelievable and is always up for anything.

* After such intense battle scenes, did you need a lot of time to “recover”?

– There are no tricks or tricks to “recover” at all. Most filming scenes only start when everyone has thoroughly prepared. What you need to do is to keep your body healthy for a long enough time to serve the action scenes. Both mentally and physically must be maintained in the best possible state.

It requires you to practice hard. Honestly, the older I get, the harder it becomes. Sometimes I wish I had joined the Fast & Furious world when I was in my 20s. Now, when I see action like that, I think to myself, “The next few weeks are going to be tough.” . But you have to accept that to be a part of this journey. When you leave the studio with your body covered in bruises, even though you’re exhausted, you’re still happy because they look like badges of honor. I feel very lucky to still be trusted to perform those heavy action scenes.
