Tom Brady had none other than Denzel Washington on his ‘Let’s Go!’ podcast and talked football for a long time

Amongst the greatest sports-themed movies, there is ‘Remember the Titans‘ starring the legendary Denzel Washington.

That movie touched so many generations when it first dropped back in 2001, which was very close to the time when Tom Brady had just started his career at the New England Patriots.

In fact, Brady was just about to take over the starting position from an injured Drew Bledsoe.

After taking a closer look at an interview Tom Brady had with Denzel in his most recent episode of the ‘Let’s Go!’ podcast, you can tell he used that film as inspiration just as any other young football player would’ve done at that time.

Tom asked Denzel to humor him and recreate one of the most memorable scenes in the entire movie.

Denzel gets into Coach Boone’s skin once again

It’s higly unlikely Denzel Washington would say no to Tom Brady’s request to recreate this scene.

It’s the very first time Coach Boone presented himself to all his new players, who represented the very first racially-integrated football program in the entire country.

Although this film is not based on a true story completely, many aspects of the film did happen in real life.

Coach Herman Boone was a real coach from 1971 who did get to coach a recently integrated highschool football program in Alexandria, Virginia.

Tom Brady recreated this scene but he showed he doesn’t have the same acting chops a legend like Denzel has.

T.C. Williams High School was honored by Disney Pictures for the story of Coach Boone and Coach Yoast and what integration meant at the time.

Their names were immortalized from this movie, in great part due to Denzel Washington’s incredible performance.

Although many details were changed in order to add more drama to the overall story, there are many elements that remained.

Brady had the chance of a lifetime to recreate this scene as Washington also seemed to enjoy doing so with the greatest NFL player in history.
