The defamation trial caused an increase in this number. However, it fell short of the target of one million signatures, which would have elevated it to the top petitions on the website overall.

However, it doesn’t appear that Disney is paying much attention to this petition. Five Pirates of the Caribbean films, totaling more than a decade in length, starred Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow.

The Edward Scissorhands actor won’t be appearing in either of the two franchise projects that Disney is currently making, despite the fact that both of them will revolve around the character.

Devoted fans of Depp didn’t think it was fair that Heard was able to land the role of Grindelwald in Aquaman 2, while Depp lost his role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts. That petition, by comparison, has 4 million signatures.

These two online petitions serve as evidence of how widely publicized the legal dispute involving Amber Heard and Johnny Depp actually was. Since there were cameras in the courtroom, the public could watch every clip of the two A-listers’ testimony.
