Wall is a former No. 1 overall pick, but he’s on his own for now
FIVE-TIME NBA All-Star John Wall has been attempting to sign with a team, but it hasn’t been easy.
Wall, who has earned $276.5 million in his career, hasn’t played on an NBA team in 2023.

Before the season, Wall took part in workouts during the Las Vegas NBA Summer League.
Unfortunately, the 11-year NBA veteran was unable to sign with a team.
So this week, Wall worked out in Orlando with half of the league’s teams in attendance, per Bleacher Report.
He was also working out with NBA veteran guard Austin Rivers.
Last season, John Wall put up less-than-stellar numbers, averaging 11.4 points, 5.2 assists, and 2.7 rebounds in 22.2 minutes per game with the Los Angeles Clippers.
In February, the Clippers traded him to the Houston Rockets as part of a three-team deal.
Wall was waived by the team three days later and hasn’t played in a game since.
Still, the 33-year-old has had plenty of success for the majority of his career.
Wall was drafted with the No. 1 overall pick by the Washington Wizards in the 2010 NBA Draft.
In his first eight seasons, the Kentucky product made five All-Star teams and averaged 19.0 points and 9.2 assists per game.
That led to him signing a four-year, $170 million contract with the Wizards in 2017.
However, Wall suffered a heel injury in 2018 which led to him playing in 32 games.
Then, in 2019, he suffered an Achilles injury which caused him to miss the whole campaign.
Wall was traded to the Rockets for Russell Westbrook in 2020.
He played 40 games for the Rockets and averaged 20.8 points and 9.9 assists per contest.
But Wall and the Rockets would end up reaching a buyout agreement.
The Clippers would sign him to a two-year, $13.2 million contract before he returned to Houston for a second stint last season.
