A 99-year-old librarian appears to have received a visit from one of her most famous – and favorite former customers.

A photo posted on Imgur Thursday shows the woman next to Hollywood legend Denzel Washington.

The librarian is beaming and both have handmade scarves around their necks.

The person who published the photo said in the caption it showed her grandmother, a 99-year-old former librarian from Mount Vernon, next to Washington, whom she had always remembered fondly.

Several people had tried to contact Washington to arrange a meetup, to no avail, the poster wrote.

But the librarian finally got to talk to him on the phone on her 99th birthday, and the two finally made plans for a reunion.

The poster said the 99-year-old had worked for 50 years at a public library in Mount Vernon, where Washington is from.

‘She ALWAYS tells the story of how she gave Denzel Washington his first library card and how she remembers him for his unique name “and he was the cutest thing,”‘ the poster wrote.

‘So for a while several parties have tried contacting Denzel to no avail. But the nursing home where she lives set out to make her 99th birthday party very special.

‘For her birthday she spoke on the phone with him, and said he would be near her in December, so he stopped by to say hi.’

The librarian, according to the poster, makes a scarf every day and had made three for the actor.

The librarian, according to the poster, had always remembered Washington fondly for his 'unique' name and thought he was 'the cutest thing'
