Barbosa started his illustrious 17-year professional basketball career in 2003 when he was drafted No. 28 overall by the San Antonio Spurs.

The combo guard made a name for himself on the court with his speed, given his nickname, The Brazilian Blur.

After stints with Phoenix, Boston, Toronto, and Indiana, Barbosa signed with the Golden State Warriors to back up Steph Curry.

In 2015, his first season with the franchise, the Warriors won the NBA Finals, the first of Curry’s four championships.

Barbosa spent one more season with Golden State before wrapping up his NBA career with the Suns.

After the NBA, the guard played for two years in his native country of Brazil, even leading the league in scoring for some time.

In Brazil, Barbosa remarried to a top model, Talita Rocca.

The two wed in their home country in 2019.

Barbosa was first married to Samara Felippo, a Brazilian actress, from 2008 to 2013.

He has four daughters, two with each wife.

In 2020, Barbosa suffered the scare of his life after Rocca gave birth to their first daughter together, Isabela, while she had Covid-19.

“I didn’t know what to do,” Barbosa told Marc Stein via The New York Times.

“All I did is just talk on the phone: ‘Listen, you’re going to have to do it by yourself.’ I told my wife, ‘Think on the baby, not on me.'”

Barbosa, who also had Covid-19, detailed the entire experience, explaining he thought he was “going to die.”

Thankfully, Isabela was born with no further complications.

Now retired from playing basketball, Barbosa coaches the sport.

In 2022, he won his second NBA championship as a player mentor coach with the Warriors.

Today, the 41-year-old works as an assistant coach for the Sacramento Kings.
