Denzel Washington reprises his role of Robert McCall for his next film, The Equalizer 3, that’s set to drop in about a month.

With the promotional push for the third installment in the vigilante action franchise approaching, the longtime leading man got to enjoy a bit of downtown, which included an errand run in his adopted hometown of Los Angeles.

The Mount Vernon, New York native looked to be in great spirits, smiling and laughing, when he was spotted making his way back to his parked SUV.

The actor oozed charm and charisma as he pointed towards someone who had seemingly recognized his famous face.

While out and about he opted to keep it casual and sporty in the fashion department in blue Nike shorts, a gray Dillard University T-shirt and black sneakers.

Washington, 68, came strolling around his black vehicle right about the time an unknown person yelled out to him.

He quickly flashed his trademark smile, that has won him swarms of fans over the years, and then made his finger gesture while grinning a big beaming smile.

The two-time Academy Award winner also sported a black New York Yankees baseball cap over his short dark hair.

After bursting out into laughter, the Training Day star then finished the walk to his vehicle, got into the driver’s side and eventually drove off.

Washington will soon be stepping up the promotional campaign for The Equalizer 3, which sees him step back into the shoes of the former U.S. Marine turned DIA intelligence officer.

Back in vigilante mode, Mr. McCall has come out of retirement to protect his peaceful new home in Southern Italy in what’s considered to be the final installment of The Equalizer trilogy.

After having seemingly finally found peace and happiness in a quiet Italian community, Mr. McCall eventually learns the mafia are running the town.

High action and tense moments follow as he takes it upon himself to remove the mob members who have brought bloodshed to his community.

Like the previous two installments, The Equalizer 3 was again directed by Antoine Fuqua from a screenplay by Richard Wenk.

Along with Washington, it also stars Dakota Fanning, David Denman, Sonia Ammar and Remo Girone.

The upcoming vigilante action film, which was shot on the Amalfi Coast in Italy and in Naples and Rome, is set to premiere in the U.S. September 1.

The original film The Equalizer (2014), that also starred Marton Csokas, Chloë Grace Moretz, David Harbour, Bill Pullman and Melissa Leo, was a bonafide hit at the worldwide box office, grossing $192.3 million against a budget of somewhere between $55-73 million.

The first sequel,The Equalizer 2 (2018), saw Washington reprise his role along with Bill Pullman and Melissa Leo, along with new additions Pedro Pascal and Ashton Sanders.

That second installment was even more successful than the first at the box office, raking in $190.4 million on a $62-79 million budget.
