Rihanna says she has never had any rivalry with Beyonce.
In the latest issue of Vogue, the Umbrella singer played down rumours that have been doing rounds on social media claiming the two never see eye to eye.
There is no shred of doubt about Rihanna and Beyoncé being the top divas in the industry right now.
Well, after Beyonce dropped her single Formation directly following Rihanna’s Anti album release, many people speculated that they are in constant antagonism.
Dishing on the claims, Rihanna told Vogue: “that’s simply not the way her mind works”.
“Here’s the deal, (people) just get so excited to feast on something that’s negative. Something that’s competitive. Something that’s, you know, a rivalry. And that’s just not what I wake up to. Because I can only do me. And nobody else is going to be able to do that.”

Though authoritative and assertive, she definitely has a point!
With her happy-go-lucky approach to life, her sense of style and her determination to break boundaries, Rihanna has customarily proven that there’s no need to compare her to other artistes because, simply put, she has no equal!
Case in point: her unapologetic demeanor for some of her most notorious moments.
When asked about her daringly revealing CFDA dress in 2014 that sparked lots of conversation, she said: “I just liked it better without the lines underneath. Could you imagine the CFDA dress with a bra? I would slice my throat. I already wanted to, for wearing a thong that wasn’t bedazzled. That’s the only regret I have in my life.”

She takes that kind of boundary-pushing mentality into her fashion design with Puma as well. Most of her creations are unisex for a reason.
“I always wanted to do what my brothers were doing,” she told Vogue.
“I always wanted to play the games they played and play rough and wear pants and go outside. Women feel empowered when they can do the things that are supposed to be only for men, you know? It breaks boundaries, it’s liberating, and it’s empowering when you feel like, Well, I can do that, too.”
Rihanna is about spontaneity – almost the opposite of Beyoncé’s control.
Beyoncé is the greatest entertainer, the ultimate stage performer, and nothing short of perfection is acceptable.
The artistes’ brands are completely different.
