The Irish singer and Voice coach pulled off the impressive bit while reading “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” in a Hogwarts-esque scarf.
Before Niall Horan’s stint as a Coach on The Voice, the singer appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2019.
However, this was no ordinary interview. Fallon has long been known to play fun games involving impressions on his show, and this time, he gave “The Show” singer a mighty task.
Fallon’s Christmastime challenge? For Horan to read the classic poem “‘A Visit From St. Nicholas,” commonly known as “Twas the Night Before Christmas” for its iconic opening line. However, the challenge came with a twist: Horan was required to deliver the poem in a variety of different accents, and each time a bell would ring, he would have to immediately switch voices.

Niall Horan performs seven different accents while on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
First, Horan had to tackle a Scottish accent. “Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirrin’, not even a wee little mouse,” Horan said in a voice that would make Shrek proud.
Then, he switched to a Russian accent without missing a beat. “Stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon arrive,” he said.
When he did a Spanish accent, the crowd cheered profusely. “The children were very, very happy…” he began, causing Fallon to laugh so hard they had to pause. “All snug in their beds, while visions of sugar plums danced in their cabeza.”
Just when you thought the bit couldn’t get any funnier, Horan unveiled his U.S Southern accent. “And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap, had just kicked back for a little cat nap,” he said in a voice that sounded remarkably like his Blake Shelton impression.
French was up next, and it was totally spot-on. “When out on the lawn, there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my bed… to see what was the matter,” he said.

Of course, his Brooklyn accent had everyone rolling. “It was frickin’ Santa Claus!” Horan exclaimed, changing the words to the poem totally impromptu. “With his little round belly, that jiggled when he walked and talked, like a bowl full ‘a spaghetti.”
Horan wrapped up his impressive showing with a convincing Australian accent. “And I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight—Happy Christmas to all, and ‘gday, mate!”
“Oh my God!” Fallon said in awe.
Although Horan may originally hail from Ireland, it seems that he can pull any accent off.
