An adaptation of one of Oda sensei’s one-shot series, titled Monster, is set to release on Netflix on January 21, 2024.

SUMMARY

Before One Piece was released, Eiichiro Oda released a series of one-shots. Later on, they were all compiled in the “Wanted!” volume, which had five different stories and one of them was Monster, which is getting an anime adaptation.
The story revolves around a samurai whose hometown was destroyed by a dragon and despite his desire to avoid trouble, the samurai finds himself surrounded by them.

One Piece has been the face of the anime genre for a while now, and despite being more than two decades old, the writing of Eiichiro Oda seems to keep getting better and better. Although he is mainly known among the audience as the author of One Piece, he also wrote several one-shots before One Piece was serialized.

When he was 19 and used to work under different artists to gain experience, he wrote several one-shots and one of them was Monster, which has been adapted into an anime scheduled to release in January 2024, which will be a story about a mighty dragon and strong humans trying to take it down.

Monsters would be very different from Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece

One Piece is the work that has given Eiichiro Oda fame and limelight, brought him immeasurable success, and secured his place as arguably the most incredible author of all time.

However, before working on his series, he worked under many people to gain experience and wrote several one-shot manga series.

They were later compiled in a volume called Wanted, which included five different one-shots, and one of the stories is getting an anime adaptation.

 

Monster is an adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s one-shot, which will be released in January 2024. The story revolves around a samurai named Ryuma, a legendary swordsman, going against a dragon who destroyed his hometown.

At the end of the one-shot chapters, Oda sensei answered some questions and revealed many facts about the story. He said:
Dragon-slaying manga, Monsters. I kinda forced the title when I made this manga. I mean, when I drew this, I was in the mood for titles with ‘ters’ ending a lot

I thought: ‘Ah, there will be a dragon and a bunch of strong guys. They’re all like monsters. That’s it: Monsters!
Monsters will premiere on Netflix on January 21, 2024, and fans are very excited to see the series and have very high expectations since Oda sensei wrote it.

Season two is already announced to be in production; however, release dates or any other significant information has yet to be released.

A reboot of the series is also announced, which would be done by Wit Studios, famously known for working on Attack on Titan, Vinland Saga, and many more series.
