Golden State Warriors winning several games in a row should not be news. A franchise accustomed to success in the last decade, to string together unparalleled streaks and give no option to the rival. The Warriors, as they are not going through their best moment, any win is still a motivation to go forward and not throw the season away.

A victory of great merit for the Californians (132-126) against a Boston Celtics that deflated in overtime. Led by a sensational Stephen Curry (33 points, 6/11 three-pointers), Kerr’s team is now 13-14, still far (11th) from their hypothetical rivals in the West. To highlight his game, at the beginning of the 4th quarter, he only had 13 points.

The best news is the return of the Splash Brothers. As if it were 2015, the Warriors backcourt understood each other perfectly in the final minutes against BostonKlay‘s 24 were decisive. For the visitors, Derrick White was superb (30 points, 7 rebounds), who made up for Tatum‘s bad game. Brown, sensational with 28 points.

The best rematch of the Finals

The duel lived up to expectations. The two teams that played for the championship in the summer of 2022 were going to put the icing on the cake of a great day of NBA. The game began evenly matched, with the Celtics unleashed on offense in the first quarter (40-30), taking advantage of Golden State‘s turnovers and moving the ball well.

The Warriors survived the festival of the best team in the East and turned the scoreboard around in a last quarter (24-35) that was reminiscent of those of yesteryear. Neither Tatum (15 points) nor Holiday (13) were comfortable throughout the game. It had to be Brown, and of course White, who brought Mazzulla’s team closer.

Boston played very poorly in the final minutes. Few ideas on offense, no fluidity in the game and totally outplayed by Golden State. On the Warriors’ side, Jonathan Kuminga was sensational on defense and the contribution of the rookie, former NCAA Indiana Hoosiers and possible steal of the last Draft, Trayce Jackson-Davis.

The center, who already dominated in college basketball, and being a top 20 talent of the last Draft went 57th, signed his best game in the NBA. He had 10 points, 13 rebounds, 3 blocks and several plays of a very high level. He will be key in the Warriors interior rotation.

Already in overtime, the locals pulled magic to give no choice to the Celtics (132-126) and change a dynamic that seemed to take them to the head well. Flashes of a bygone era. Golden State is back to thrill again.
