Jennifer Lopez was dropped as the brand ambassador of Louis Vuitton

Back in 2003, according to Campaign Live, the singer-actress Jennifer Lopez was named the brand ambassador of the luxury brand Louis Vuitton and was leading the advertising campaign showcasing apparel and iconic monogram bags by LV.

However, it was soon reported that the luxury brand had decided to drop the artist as their brand ambassador due to her actions that had upset the executives to the extent that they refused to collaborate with her ever again.

Jennifer Lopez allegedly took the items by Louis Vuitton worth thousands of dollars with her after the campaign shoot in Paris, which had upset the executives. According to the Sun, the estimated value of the items she walked away with exceeds $6000, and above this, she sent one of her staff members back to the set because she forgot to collect a pair of socks.

A source quoted in The Sun at the time via The Things,
“There is an unwritten understanding that whenever someone does one of our shoots, they can help themselves to a few thing. These are pieces they have worn and really taken a shine to. But Jennifer Lopez totally went to town and pretty much emptied the studio.”
Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell were lined up to replace the actress-singer. The representatives at Louis Vuitton have never commented on their decision to replace the artist and noted that her work with the brand was simply a one-time contract only.

Jennifer Lopez defends her brand partnerships

In an interview with Adweek, the artist decided to reflect on the controversies regarding her brand partnerships were involved. She said at the time via The Things;
“I felt that it was important to start seeing somebody who looked like me in those ads because it had been the same look for so long. And to see a Latina there, a young Latina girl, at the time for me, was very important. I took that chance and knew that it would be something that could make difference. “
She was recently criticized for launching an alcohol brand; Delola, even when she has maintained for a fact that she doesn’t drink.

People called her a hypocrite which she took to her social media to share via The Mirror,
“I do enjoy the occasional cocktail. I do drink responsibly, I don’t drink to get s***faced. I drink to be social and to have a nice time and just relax and let loose a bit, but always responsibly.”
She said in the video that she created Delola which is a healthier way to drink, a way that suits her lifestyle to drink, the way she would like to drink.
