He tried unloading it last fall. After months of no offers, James Corden dropped the price of his Los Angeles property from $22 mιllιon to $18 mιllιon. The Real Deal reported that the mansion sold for $17.1 mιllιon in cash in May. Weijian Shan’s daughter LeeAnn Akouri-Shan is the bargain hunter.

Corden bought the mansion from “Modern Family” creator Steven Levitan for $10 mιllιon in 2017. After buying the home, he lavishly renovated it, which could have cost mιllιon. L.A.’s new mansion tax adds over $1 mιllιon to Corden’s closing fees, taxes, and broker commissions.

The former Corden home is hidden behind gates and a massive hedge in Brentwood Park, a wealthy area. The 1990s-built “New England transitional” has seven bedrooms, eight baths, and more than 8,000 square feet of living space, all decorated by Corden’s wife, interior designer Julia Corden.

A fireplace-equipped living room, eat-in kitchen with marble countertops, 20-seat movie theater, library, and family room with French doors to the gardens are highlights. The master bedroom has a balcony, lounge, and two bathrooms, one of which has hardwood floors and greenhouse-like shower and toilet stations.

This half-acre property in Brentwood Park is known for its rich East Coast landscaping. There are tree-shaded lawns front and back, brick patios for outdoor dining, an in-ground trampoline, and a backyard pool. The property has an attached three-car garage and a Crestron home automation system that controls the lighting, sound system, and security cameras remotely.

Akouri-Shan can probably afford any house she wants, but she’s clearly intrigued in this one. The high-hedged property backs up to a $20 mιllιon estate her older brother Bo Shan bought from Tracy Tutor in 2019.

Corden is returning to the U.K., where he has a major new project, after the “Late Late Show” ended. The 44-year-old filed plans to demolish a decaying house on his 44-acre British country estate and build a contemporary one to his specifications a few months ago. Oxfordshire is 60 miles northwest of London.
