The pop superstar kindly addressed the crowd with her concern during her Buenos Aires concert on Sunday
Taylor Swift is the latest artist to ask fans not to throw objects on stage.
During the pop superstar’s Eras Tour stop in Buenos Aires, Argentina,
on Sunday, she politely requested that audience members refrain from throwing items while she’s performing.
According to fan-captured footage on social media, the “Cruel Summer” singer, 33, took a moment to speak out about the issue immediately after someone in the crowd tossed a gift on the stage at Estadio River Plate.
“And just because communication means having gentle, healthy boundaries — it really freaks me out when stuff gets thrown on the stage,” Swift said while sitting behind the piano during the Evermore portion of her career-spanning set.
“Because if it’s on the stage then a dancer can trip on it,” she said in a calm, thoughtful tone, expressing her concern. “I love that you brought presents, and that is so nice, but just can you please not throw them on the stage?”
“I love you so much,” the singer-songwriter added to her loyal Swifties before resuming the performance.
Swift is one of many stars who have spoken out about the recent dangerous phenomenon of concertgoers throwing objects at artists while they’re on stage. Musicians like Adele, Charlie Puth and Billie Eilish have made similar comments to fans over the past several months.
Many performers opened up about their concern after several incidents: Harry Styles was hit by several objects during his Love on Tour; Kelsea Ballerini was struck in the eye by a bracelet; and Bebe Rexha was seriously injured after a male crowd member threw a cell phone at her, leading to his arrest.
The “Anti-Hero” singer addressed her fans several days after she resumed her highly successful Eras Tour, which kicked off its Latin American leg on Thursday in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The hitmaker played a string of three dates at Estadio River Plate — one of which was postponed from Friday to Sunday due to inclement weather of a heavy rain and winds.
Swift wowed her audience of thousands at all three concerts. On Thursday night, she played the romantic Midnights ballad “Labyrinth” live for the first time as a part of her “surprise songs,” and she playfully altered the lyrics in her hit “Karma” on Saturday to reference her beau, Travis Kelce, who was in attendance.
The pop star made a not-so-subtle nod to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, with the lyric, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me,” while he watched from the VIP tent with her dad, Scott Kingsley Swift.
After the show, the couple was spotted celebrating together, as fans caught footage of the “Lavender Haze” singer rushing off the stage to give the NFL star a kiss.

Now that Swift has wrapped up her shows in Argentina, she’ll travel to Brazil for three concerts in Rio de Janeiro and three more in São Paulo. The Latin American leg of her tour marks the final stretch of the Eras Tour for 2023, which first kicked off in North America back in the spring.
The superstar will be out on the road again next year, as she is set to bring the Eras Tour across Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the U.K.
