The Greek rushed to the Pacers’ locker room during the wild fracas

NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo was incensed with the Indiana Pacers – after he claimed they stole his game ball.

The Milwaukee Bucks forward, 29, dropped a franchise record 64 points in a 140-126 win over the Pacers on Wednesday.

But he was caught up in a bizarre scuffle with Pacers players and staff following his heroics at the Fiserv Forum.

The Greek star wanted the game ball after putting up the startling numbers to send his team 17-7 on the NBA season.

However, when a Pacers assistant coach took the game ball to the visiting locker room, TV cameras caught Antetokounmpo sprinting down the tunnel after him.

Giannis attempted to “enter the Pacers locker room” to retrieve his souvenir from a record-breaking game, per the New York Post.

He emerged back onto the court shortly afterward, without the ball, as coaches attempted to calm down both Antetokounmpo and his teammates.

The Pacers official had wanted to give the ball to rookie Oscar Tshiebwe after he scored his first point in the NBA.

“There’s a misunderstanding about the game ball,” Coach Rick Carlisle explained, per Bleacher Report.

“It was Oscar Tshiebwe’s first official NBA point, so we always get the game ball.

“We were not thinking about Giannis’ franchise [64-point] record. So we grabbed the ball and a couple of minutes later, several of their players end up in our hallway.

“There was a big fracas. I don’t think any punches were landed but my general manager got elbowed in the ribs.”

Bucks security was able to “retrieve the ball” for the two-time MVP, according to an NBA Insider.

But Giannis was adamant that the ball he was given wasn’t the one in play during the game.

He told reporters: “It doesn’t feel like the game ball to me. It feels like a brand new ball. I can tell.

“I played 35 minutes today and I know how the game ball felt. The ball that I have, which I’ll take I’ll give it to my mom, but I don’t know if it’s actually the game ball.”

Following the drama, one fan wrote on X: “Pacers are disrespectful.”

Another agreed: “Respect the the man that dropped 64 on you and give him the game ball.”

But a third countered: “Misunderstanding with the game ball. Pacers took it as part of their own tradition. It was nothing against Giannis at all. They have a tradition that when a player scores their first career point they give them the game ball, and one of their rookies did that tonight.”

Antetokounmpo’s incredible performance saw him beat the previous Bucks best of 57 points, set by Michael Redd in 2006.

He went 20-28 from the field as well as making 24 of his 32 attempted free throws.

Giannis’ 64 points equal the NBA regular season career-high of Michael Jordan, but was still 36 shy of the 100-point NBA record held by Wilt Chamberlain.
