Pete Wicks has admitted he felt jealous while his best pal Sam Thompson was forming new ‘bromances’ while in the I’m A Celebrity jungle.

Made In Chelsea star Sam, 31, was sensationally crowned King Of The Jungle after his stint on the creepy crawlies-themed reality show in Australia.

During his time on the show, he formed close relationships with JLS’ Marvin Humes over his childhood love for the boyband.

And when former boxer Tony Bellew entered camp as a late arrival, Sam was soon swept off his feet.

Meanwhile Pete, 35, who had flown out to support Sam, was left watching on in jealousy.

Speaking on their Staying Relevant podcast, Pete said: ‘I said before you went away that I was most scared of you getting a bromance and leaving me behind.’

‘That started with Marvin – with the singing and the hugging. And then it completely and utterly destroyed me when Tony came in…’

Proving his point, Sam couldn’t contain his delight as he shouted ‘Tony Bellew!’ in response.

After he was given his crown following his win, Pete met Sam on the famous bridge, where Sam jumped into his arms.

Reliving the moment, Sam continued: ‘One of the first things Pete said to me was “what’s this about Marvin and Teddy T [Sam’s nickname for Tony]?”

‘It was at that moment I knew that Pete was jealous.’

Sam jumped into the arms of runner-up Tony when hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec lan Donnelly announced the results, before admitting he was ‘overwhelmed’.

He said: ‘I’m really overwhelmed, I didn’t think I’d even be invited on the show. I don’t know what to say.’

Asked what he had to say to those who had voted for him, he tearfully said: ‘I’m so grateful, thank you so much. I’ve dreamed of doing this show for years and years and you’ve made a boy’s dream come true.’

Tony wasn’t too disappointed to have finished second as he felt his new friend was a more than worthy winner.

Pete claimed that Sam completely ignored the producers instructions not to jump on him when they met on the famous jungle bridge.

He revealed they were both told that the bridge was unstable, however Sam took the risk and leaped into Pete’s arms following his win.

The duo also made light of the moment as they joked it looked like the were being intimate and ‘dry humping’ as they got carried away.

After the show ended, Pete was then spotted partying the night away with Sam’s fellow campmate Danielle Harold and the pair looked very cosy together.

But despite their seemingly flirty display sparking rumours the pair were growing close, Danielle insists she and Pete are just good friends.

She said during an appearance on Loose Women on Tuesday: ‘We’ve been laughing so much. No, we’ve been laughing so much, bless him.

‘We come out and you go out with all the friends and family, but me and Pete are just good friends. Have been for years, but we’ve been having a good giggle about it.’

The group left the venue about 8pm and staggered home with Danielle walking with her family and Frankie Dettori after the taxi couldn’t fit them all in.

An onlooker told The Sun: ‘Danielle and Pete were incredibly cosy. They were cuddling a lot and were very tactile. They acted like a couple.

‘Danielle seemed very happy with Pete and at one point jumped on his back. They posed for pictures together, too. They looked good together.’

Speaking on his and Sam’s Staying Relevant Podcast Pete declared: ‘I just want to point out that I didn’t s**g anyone’s wife’.

His co-host quipped: ‘Pete got linked to every single person out there’.

King of the Jungle Sam continued: ‘He got linked to Sarah – Nick’s [Pickard] girlfriend, he got linked to Danielle [Harold], he got linked to my girlfriend Zara [McDermott], he got linked to Rochelle [Humes] at one point’.

‘I don’t think there were anymore women out there to get linked to.’

He added: ‘Do you know what my favourite thing about this is…I’ve gone into the jungle and Pete’s flown out there to be there for me and it’s literally he can’t get away from it’.

Pete then concluded: ‘Genuinely, Sam could not be more loved and all that seems to have happened is that I am hated.’
