Netflix fans have gone into meltdown with the release of Zach Snyder’s new sci-fi film Rebel Moon.

Centred around ‘the most wanted fugitive in the known universe’, Kora (Sofia Boutella), battles it out in a bid to save the quiet farming moon of Veldt.

The lone wolf soldier discovered a sense of connection on the tranquil farming moon – a far cry from her past life as a soldier for the Imperium.

Unfortunately when a sadistic Interstellar empire comes – who is determined to control the entire galaxy – comes knocking on their door, Kora is forced to dig up her past to save her home and the people in it.

After the evil admiral, Atticus Noble (Ed Skrein) visits their planet on a huge and ominous battle cruise, Kora makes her way across the universe to gather a team of fighters to help protect the quiet Veldt.

Among the scrappy team of fighters includes, mercenary Kai (Charlie Hunnam), ex-Imperium general Titus (Dijmon Hounsou), refugee, Miliua (E. Duffy), cyborg swordsman Nemesis (Doona Bae), ex-nobleman Tarak (Staz Nair), sibling Darrian (Ray Fisher) and Devra Bloodaxe (Cleopatra Coleman) and Veldt farmer Gunnar (Michiel Huisman).

Robot Jimmy (voice by Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins) is also seen to be waiting as a back up, after many years out of duty.

Director Snyder explained Jimmy and similar AI machines to him struggle to accept their current reality and become slightly ‘disillusioned’ because they were created for a specific role.

Now many of the robots, including Jimmy have lost the will to fight in order to protect the Veldt.

Regarding the rebellious clan defending the quiet farming moon, Snyder told Netflix: ‘They’re all mifits. They’re all healing and finding a place to belong. It’s a movie about finding a family.’

‘That’s really at the heart of the movie in a lot of ways: Kora finding a place to call home, something that she wants to protect.’

Fans have been raving about the film ever since it’s release on Friday, with many taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to give their reviews of the action packed movie.

‘OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH I DIDNT REALIZE HOW MUCH I LOVED THIS MOVIE AHHH,’ one wrote.
