Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards believes NBA legend Michael Jordan couldn’t guard him in the league today.

‘Hell nah. No,’ Edwards said per Complex. ‘I just don’t think he could guard me.’

Edwards added it would be a ‘tough night’ for Jordan if they ever matched up.

It’s quite the brash statement for the 22-year-old Edwards, who has had plenty of success in his NBA career thus far. Taking down Jordan however to some is the equivalent of climbing basketball’s Mount Everest.

Jordan was not only a 10-time NBA scoring champion, but a nine-time league All-NBA First Team defensive selection.

Edwards was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and made his first All-Star game last season.

The former Georgia Bulldog is having an even better season this year than last, averaging 24.6 points per game and leading the Timberwolves to first place in the Western Conference with a 20-5 record.

Jordan may be most famous for winning six NBA Championships, while Edwards hasn’t won a playoff series in Minnesota.

During his interview with Complex, Edwards does admit Jordan is the ‘greatest to ever play basketball’ and he’s far from that.

Yet when it comes to the person Edwards considers the best basketball player of all-time, Jordan couldn’t guard him.

The NBA is different today than during Jordan’s three stints in the league. However, Jordan’s statistics are hard to argue. >
