Jenkins stormed the court screaming at the refs, forcing the game to stop as he approached players.
The Grizzlies coach later apologized for the incident to Lakers head coach Darvin Ham.
“You can’t do that, so I take full responsibility there,” Jenkins said.
“I saw a tussle there, Jaren’s clamping LeBron, then I saw something that crossed the line … I had to stand up for my guy.

“I’m glad our guys rallied, obviously got the crowd into it. It was a tie ball game and they took the lead on the technical free throw. But then our guys were just resilient, battling through.”
The mayhem started in the third quarter when Marcus Smart tried to get a pass to Jackson who couldn’t corral it.
Jackson and James tussled on the floor for the ball, but in the process it appeared that James elbowed Jackson in the face.
Jenkins crossed onto the court after the incident and was assessed a technical foul for causing the disruption.

His fellow coaches and players had to hold him back from causing any other issues.
Even after a review, the referees didn’t assess any other fouls on the play besides the tech on Jenkins.
The grizzlies went on to win the game 127-113 and Jackson expressed appreciation for his coach’s passion.
“That’s my dog,” Jackson said.
“He’s been great all season. He’s been great ever since he’s been here. He’s held it down the whole time, and that’s just what he does.
“He’s one of us, he’s a player’s coach. He’s with us in the den, he’s with us when it gets hard. I expect nothing less. I already knew what he was on.
“I could hear him when I was on the ground. At all times, I know he’s got my back.”
