Like LeBron James or Stephen Curry, Luka Doncic has remained faithful to his childhood sweetheart, with whom he still forms a lovely couple. When speaking about his sweetheart, the Slovenian also revealed the rule she imposes at home.
To be happy on the NBA floor, it is better to display such joy of life outside of it. This is good, since Luka Doncic can count on great stability in his love life. Since his arrival in the league, the Mavericks star guard has shown unfailing loyalty to his long-time girlfriend, Anamaria Goltes, with whom he seems to live the perfect love on the Dallas side.
The couple even welcomed their first child, Gabriela, in December 2023, which did not influence the Slovenian’s performance on the pitch in the slightest. On the contrary, the latter continued to evolve at a stratospheric level following this birth and thus remained among the elite of the circuit.
This, in particular thanks to the unconditional support of his partner, on whom he can supposedly always count.
Luka Doncic’s cash confession on Anamaria Goltes
Given his superstar status, Doncic sees himself surrounded by high expectations in each of his matches. Failure to respond can therefore lead to a flood of criticism, which could have repercussions on their life as a couple.
However, according to his own words, his sweetheart ensures that this does not happen. In any case, this is what he said during his appearance on Rachel Nichols’ show Headliners :
She helps me a lot. I met her in Croatia when we were about 11 years old and I’m very happy to have her by my side. Everything is going very well between us and she helps me a lot. I get a lot of pressure from outside but when I come home she wants me not to talk about basketball. She doesn’t like it anyway. Finally, she learned to love it and she comes to every game.
Far from being passionate about basketball, Goltes would therefore make the effort to accompany Luka to each of his meetings, without letting the orange ball enter their home. A way for her to ensure that her man relieves the stress that continually accompanies him due to his role. No wonder, then, that the latter was grateful to her and put the ring on her finger.
In order not to let the pressure surrounding Luka Doncic interfere in their daily lives, Anamaria Goltes simply forbids him from talking about basketball at home. A recipe which seems fruitful given the well-being and level displayed by the Slovenian.
