The Islander found out exactly how many Instagram followers everyone had

ELLA Thomas has finally admitted she broke Love Island rules by checking her social media.

Since last series ending there have been rumblings that someone had access to a phone, and now Ella has revealed exactly how she did it.

Speaking on Capital XTRA as she hosted the Christmas show, Ella told how she asked a driver to borrow her phone as she was driven to film something out of the villa.

Towards the end of the series she went for a drink with Whitney after they had a huge row – and she wasn’t given a chaperone, so took full advantage of it.

Ella, who is still with Tyler after meeting on the show, revealed: “The driver let me use their phone, there was nobody looking after me, [and] there was no producer.”

She said she was desperate to check Instagram after not having a phone for nearly seven weeks.

She checked not only how many followers she had but also all of her cast mates.

Laughing, Ella said: “I went back to Ty and I said you’ve got this many, she’s got that many…”

Catherine Agbaje claimed the islanders had access to the internet on another occasion as well.

She claimed that when Medhi left, someone managed to get online on his phone.

Catherine said: “Someone had access to the internet and someone was searching it up and we all got called in and I was like I have nothing to do with that but I’m not going to say who or anything like that, but that was something that went on.

“So we actually had access to the internet. I don’t know who did, well I do know who did, but I wasn’t there and I didn’t witness it so whatever.”

A rep for Love Island denied her claims at the time.

The Islanders all have phones when they are in the villa but they are only used to take pictures and receive texts for challenges/dumpings.

They have no access to the real world via their mobiles.
