Love Island viewers were split in opinion following Thursday’s show, after watching the toe-curling moment Demi Jones came face-to-face with Kaz Kamwi after sharing a kiss with Luis Morrison.

Despite Mitch Taylor admitting his interest in her just minutes prior, Demi decided to make a move on Luis, with the pair enjoying a steamy smooch on the villa terrace.

This move came as a surprise to many viewers as Luis had previously planned to take Kaz up to the terrace instead, and Demi awkwardly came face-to-face with Kaz in the bedroom.

After finding her in the middle of a chat in the dressing room, Demi frantically said she needed to ‘get her phone’ and fled the room.

The pair then sat in awkward silence with Liberty Poole, before it was announced that a recoupling was looming.

Demi’s behaviour sparked a flurry of responses from fans, with many shocked by her unexpected decision to make a move on Luis.

One tweeted: ‘Didn’t expect Demi to be showing Destiny’s Chaldish traits like this,’ while another added: ‘MIND YOU HER PHONE IS IN HER HAND OH DEMI IS MESSY.’

”’Hey girlies” DEMI IS A SCARY INDIVIDUAL,’ a third shared.

One added: ‘nah why did demi go over to kaz & libs, how awkward #loveisland,’ and another user shared: ‘i just know Demi didn’t go join them.’

However, others rushed to defend Demi, with one writing: ‘All of you hating on Luis right now and calling him a deadbeat and an a*******e! Get a grip! So what if he likes Demi more than Kaz???’

‘Aww Demi and Luis are my faves,’ another posted.

A third added: ‘Why’s Kaz vexed at Demi you’ve known this man two days.’

Earlier in the show, viewers were left unconvinced after new arrival Josh Ritchie claimed he had turned over a new leaf and was looking to settle down and have children.

A majority of fans were quick to slam Demi’s behaviour, and questioned why she went over to join Kaz so soon after kissing Luis

The lothario who found fame on the ITV2 show’s first series, became the latest bombshell and chose to enjoy cliffside dates with Georgia H, Georgia S and Hannah.

During his date with Georgia S he revealed his plans to be parent before being accused of taking a swipe at ex Charlotte Crosby.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one said: ‘Josh is fake AF wants kids and doesn’t want a girl who goes to the club…. next joke lol’.

While a second wrote:  ‘Josh Ritchie ready for kids, yeah like Vladamir Putin is ready for world peace’.

And: ‘Josh trying to act all mature. I give it 24 hours before he releases the inner menace’.

However, others rushed to defend Demi, with one writing that viewers needed to ‘get a grip’

Another commented: ‘Ugh Josh thinks he’s a main character, baby you aren’t even mentioned in the credits’.

Later in the conversation he said he was looking for a lady who did not out at night clubs ‘every weekend’ which was interpreted to be a dig at his former flame.

Josh and Geordie Shore’s Charlotte dated for two years until 2019 and even co-hosted MTV’s just Tattoo of Us before appearing together on Celebrity Coach Trip.

With a fan saying: ‘Josh just made a dig at Charlotte Crosby that he don’t want something that is going to be out every weekend if you watched her show you know how much of a know he was to her’.
