Security stepped in to stop a fan recording Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James while he was reportedly accompanied by a mystery female companion.

A video circulated on social media appearing to show the 38-year-old sat on a stool at a semi-circular table, suggesting he could have been at a casino, along with two other figures.

In the background, another man and a woman can be sitting adjacent to the Lakers power forward. The person behind the recording of the footage appeared to allege that James had been seated with her.

It has sparked speculation from fans questioning why James did not want to be recorded in public with the unidentified woman, although it cannot be confirmed if she was with him or the other man seen in the video.

Posted on TikTok, the clip was captioned: ‘LeBron James caught lacking in Las Vegas yesterday’ and according to Game 7, James may have also been gambling in the short clip.

However, it is difficult to ascertain exactly what had occurred as security guards stepped in to confiscate the fan’s recording device.

The video also does not also include a time stamp, making it difficult to verify when the events included in the footage actually occurred.

What is clear James was not entirely happy with being caught on camera, with security guards ensuring the man did not get a chance to meet the American basketball hero.

The four-time NBA champion and MVP has not had the best of weeks on and off the court.

He has already come under fire for entering a basketball game while the national anthem was being played when he went to watch his son, Bronny, play in his first collegiate game.

Orange County Register reporter Luca Evans posted a video on X of James walking into the arena with his younger son, Bryce, and two of his Sierra Canyon High School teammates.

James was criticized for sitting down and failing to remove his hat, which is customary during the Star Spangled Banner anthem, which was taken as a sign of disrespect.
