There are certain rules to abide by as a guest at weddings, like not upstaging the bride and groom.

But model Kendall Jenner “clearly didn’t get the wedding attire memo” according to angry fans as she opted to wear a skin-baring maxi dress for her pal Lauren Perez’s Miami wedding.

The 26-year-old initially wore a blue midi silk slip dress to the wedding, which she accessorised with dainty silver hoops and neutral glam makeup for her role as a bridesmaid alongside Hailey Bieber.

But in a series of snaps she shared to her Instagram stories, where she posed for mirror selfies with Hailey and pals, she was seen in a black dress from Monot’s SS22 collection which featured diamond-shaped cut-outs across the bust and midriff.

Although it appears Kendall only wore the dress for the reception, people on Twitter were still confused by her choice, with many criticising her for ‘taking the attention away from the bride and groom.’

One person said: “If anyone showed up to my wedding in the dress that Kendall Jenner wore, I would personally hire security and have them escorted out. The audacity to do that to the bride and a groom.”

Another wrote: “@KendallJenner I’d rather you turn up to my wedding in a wedding dress than this.”

A third commented: “Imagine Kendall Jenner wearing this to your wedding.”

Someone else put: “I’m sorry but the dress Kendall Jenner wore to a wedding is not appropriate at all … [you] don’t show up to someone’s wedding pretty much naked … The attention is supposed to be on the bride and the groom.”

Complaints didn’t stop there though as a video on TikTok claimed that Kendall “wanted attention.”

Comments on it included: “Besides the ‘pick me’ mentality, it’s just blatantly disrespectful,” and “She clearly didn’t get the wedding attire memo, huh?”

But it wasn’t all bad news for Kendall, as many others thought she looked great, and couldn’t see what the problem was.

“Not gonna lie, I wouldn’t care. She looks great,” one said.

“She looks great. I don’t think it’s that biggie of a deal,” another agreed.
