On January 7, 2024, the One Piece original anime will begin its final storyline, the Egghead Island Arc. Since 1999, Toei Animation has been producing an anime version of the manga series written by Eiichiro Oda. As well as its famous animation, the anime has won accolades for its vivid and accurate adaptation of the manga.
Given the positive reception the series has received across all media—manga, anime, and live-action—One Piece has decided to go even further. An additional anime adaptation of the manga One Piece is in the works.
Netflix is set to release a brand-new anime produced by Wit Studio, the same company behind Attack on Titan and Spy x Family, which is based on the manga series by Eiichiro Oda.

Buzz Around The News of One Piece Getting a Remake
The internet has gone crazy over the news that One Piece will be remade. While some anime enthusiasts think the new animation couldn’t compete with the current series, many others think the remake would enhance it and draw in new viewers rather than detract from the original work.
Some fans, on the other hand, contended that the remake offered an opportunity to enhance the adaptation and bring it closer to the manga because the current anime had numerous issues that needed to be fixed.
One Piece WIT Studio
Little is known about the One Piece remake’s release date, cast, crew, format, and animation style because it is still in its early stages of development. But the thing that gives assurance to the fans is that the names Shueisha and Toei Animation are on the announcement poster, which is a comforting thing. But still, one animator from the popular series has expressed his discomfort.

One Piece Animator Expresses Disappointment
The news that Netflix will be releasing a new anime adaptation of One Piece, animated by Wit Studio, has generated a lot of buzz. Starting with the East Blue arc, the upcoming anime will tell the story as it appears in the original manga. One of the One Piece animators shared his disappointment with X. He said:
“What will happen to anime that is currently being broadcast? It makes me feel a little sad that the value of the anime that we have built up until now seems to be diminishing. I’m very happy that so many people from other countries have told me that my narrow-minded views are not like that! It’s a warm world here, where everyone takes care of both the work and the staff members.”

As a result of this announcement, many wondered how the remake would affect Toei Animation’s current anime team, who have worked on the series for many years. But as of now, not much is known about the series and how will it be planned out in the future.
