Luffy’s balloon runs into some obstacle and deflates in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade leaving One Piece fans dejected.
One Piece has been making headlines a lot this year. The anime series has been carrying the new era entirely on its shoulders. The anime and manga both became massive successes, which is why One Piece brought Luffy to New York City. The series has officially become a part of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. However, some unfortunate deflation has botched the debut.

As weird as it sounds, it seems like the future Pirate King has enemies everywhere. As the massive Luffy balloon traversed through the city, it bumped into a few things, resulting in the rubber Luffy losing its iconic straw hat. Fans haven’t been silent from that moment as they’re blowing up the incident on social media.

There have been several videos surfacing on the internet that feature Luffy’s difficult run through New York City. Despite being escorted by so many people, the balloon ran into a street light.
The sound of Luffy meeting its demise would’ve been quite loud, and it could’ve shocked the audience as they gasped in anticipation of the worst. Luckily, Luffy was able to dust off this wreck without deflation, but it was not as lucky.
The photos taken from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade feature several images of One Piece’s protagonist with a massive hole in his hat. The images show the front part of his hat being completely deflated.
The hole ripped the seam of the balloon, as seen in the images, and it seems like Toei Animation will have to send Luffy off for a fix. However, the only part of Luffy that is deflating is his hat for now.

2023 has been an eventful year, marking Luffy’s first appearance at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Even though the ordeal became rather sticky, it was a memorable incident. Surprisingly, this is not the only balloon Toei Animation is overseeing at the event.
Even the protagonist of the Dragon Ball series, Goku, participated in this event. At that time, the main concern for the fans was that Super Saiyan’s hair stayed inflated as planned!
Toei Animation became part of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade by presenting them with a collection of massive Goku balloons.
Fans all over the internet have been expressing their dejection, as it was quite embarrassing to see the aspiring Pirate King go down with a deflated Pirate Hat!
