The morning show didn’t reveal the switch-up until the program began

GOOD Morning America has decided to make a major change to the show for its Christmas broadcast.

Hosts Michael Strahan, Robin Roberts, and George Stephanopoulos revealed the adjustment at the start of Monday’s show.

GMA opened its show per usual with all of the three hosts sitting in their normal spots at the anchor desk.

Michael kicked the broadcast off, telling viewers: “Good morning, America, and merry Christmas to everyone at home and everyone here in our studio.”

Robin then revealed there was a change to the show and explained why it had been made.

She told everyone: “We just wanna let you know that we’re on tape this morning so all of us can celebrate with our loved ones, too.

“And we hope you’re having a great, great holiday.”

To further ensure viewers were aware of the switch-up, the program put up a warning that read, “portions recorded,” in one corner of the broadcast.

As the warning revealed, not every aspect was pre-taped, and correspondent Erielle Reshef was brought in to help with the live anchoring of the show.

Ahead of her spot on GMA, Erielle shared a snap of herself getting on-air ready.

She smiled at the camera for the Instagram Story photo as a make-up mirror sat on the table behind her.

The correspondent captioned the pic: “Wishing you a VERY Merry & Bright Christmas from @abcnews!

“See you on @goodmorningamerica with the headlines.”

While the main anchors had off Christmas morning, Michael still put in some work on a different network on Christmas Eve.

The host was there for his usual shift on Fox NFL Sunday.

George, meanwhile, enjoyed some time at home with his family over the weekend, with his wife, Ali Wentworth, sharing a snap of his dressed down in a hoodie.
