As we have seen in the past, many players have shone alongside LeBron James, including at the Lakers. But not everyone is so lucky and one of them seems to have come back to life since leaving the City of Angels. Statistically speaking, it’s literally night and day.

Having LeBron James as a teammate is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, the winger is a formidable playmaker and has no equal when it comes to putting his team’s players in the best possible situation.

On the other hand, however, it represents a massive point of attraction for the circulation of the ball and if you are not used to playing with such a profile, it can quickly become very complicated.

In the past, it was not uncommon for athletes who were perfect to play with him to turn out to be disappointing, especially among shooters. Malik Beasley was part of it last year for 26 games, before setting sail for Milwaukee during the summer.

And he seems to like himself much more alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo & co., remaining in five games in a row between 14 and 19 points. For some fans, there is no room for doubt:

Malik Beasley completely comes back to life at the Bucks

Malik Beasley is free from the shackles of the Lakers and LeBron, no one is holding him back

Beasley only scores one point more on average than last year (12 against 11) but when it comes to his shooting percentages, it’s night and day: 48.4% including 46% on three-pointers. Milwaukee against 39% including 35% by far in LA.

More comfortable in Adrian Griffin’s systems, he has become a superb option in the major five for the Daims. Did LeBron really slow him down? Needless to say, no one agrees.

Giannis is better at giving good shots to his teammates

So when LeBron was driving and making the pass to him in the corner while he was wide open, he was “being held by LeBron”?😂

The only thing certain at this point is that Malik Beasley made his Bucks debut. It now remains to maintain this level of play throughout the season but if he succeeds, the Lakers will perhaps regret having let him slip away during the offseason. Unless he just couldn’t play with LeBron…
