For those who follow boxing, it was a surprise recently as Jake Paul broke his clean record. Recently in the Saudi Arabia bout, Paul lost to Tommy Fury by a split decision.
However, another celebrity that also got to face the loss was Drake. As it turned out the rapper had put a bet on Paul for 400,000 dollars. Following this while addressing the outcome of the match, he jokingly mentioned the famous Drake Curse. Apart from that the former YouTuber also promised to give his best in the next game.
Jake Paul Blames His Loss on Drake
Jake Paul
A match was recently held between Tommy Fury and Jake Paul in Saudi Arabia. The result was shocking because it was the first time Paul lost a match. Before this, he had been unbeatable and had a clear record. However, after a split decision, Fury was announced as the winner.
Later it turned out that one of the people who had put a bet on Paul had been Drake. The Hotline Bling rapper is a common appearance in sports gambling. In this particular case, his bet had been on Paul for 400,000 dollars. That is a big amount but for someone with a former YouTuber’s record, it seems like a safe bet.
But he lost the match as viewers know by now. After the results, post-fight, while speaking to the media he addressed the situation. Referring to the infamous Drake Curse, Paul said,
“F**k! This is Drake’s fault!’ Drake, bro, why did you do this to me?”
Drake
This was a joke and was alluding to the curse that the rapper seemed to bring while so let’s gambling. Following that, Paul added that the loss was due on his part and mentioned that the amount was a small loss compared to the rapper’s wealth.
Finally, the YouTuber-turned-rapper promised and assured his rapper friend that he would bring the “W” (Win) the next time.

What is The Drake Curse?
Drake
Just as it sounds, it is a curse that comes with Drake. Although it is just a superstitious belief by the fans, there have been too many incidents to back it up. People noticed that whenever the Canadian rapper got associated with a sports team or an athlete, that team would ultimately lose the match soon.
It is as if he curses anyone for who he shows support. Some of the athletes who have seemed to come under victims of the curse are Anthony Joshua, Daniel Sturridge, etc. Somehow, the teams end up losing even against the odds in their favor.
