Red Hair Shanks still edges over Monkey D. Luffy in power terms in One Piece.
One Piece is one of the greatest pieces of fiction ever written. Eiichiro Oda almost spends half of his life trying to build up the perfect story. Till now, he has been successful in his task. The story of Monkey D. Luffy wanting to be the king of pirates takes him through all kinds of adventures, where he recruits new crew members.
Considered to be one of the Big Three of anime, One Piece has the same level of popularity even after 20 years.Throughout Luffy’s journey, he has faced several strong enemies who have helped him in growing stronger.
But the person who inspired him to become a pirate in the first place might not be like the other powerful people that he met. Luffy may not be strong enough to defeat this person, even in his Gear 5 form.
Shanks Is Stronger Than Monkey D. Luffy
Shanks
The captain of the Red Hair Pirates, Shanks, was the one who inspired Monkey D. Luffy to become a pirate. Luffy followed his path and became a great pirate. After defeating Kaido, he is an official Yonko alongside Shanks, Blackbeard, and Buggy.
But even though he has come a long way and unlocked his most potent form, Gear 5, it still might not be enough to defeat Shanks.
One Piece has projected Shanks to be very powerful and is likely to have the strongest Conqueror’s Haki. He is nicknamed ‘The Killer of Observation Haki.’ He can see the future with his observation haki, and people with low willpower will immediately get knocked down if they come in front of him. Shanks does not have any Devil fruit powers, which is a boon for Luffy.
Shanks lost his left arm while protecting Luffy. But that does not stop him from being a master swordsman. The Strawhat captain has mastered every haki along with Ryou. On power terms, both the pirates might be on the same level, but Shanks has more experience and is strong enough to knock down a Navy Admiral with his Conqueror’s Haki from a distance.
All these qualities slightly place him above Monkey D. Luffy in One Piece.
More on One Piece
One Piece recently wrapped up the Wano arc after Gear 5 Luffy defeated Kaido and Trafalgar D. Water Law, and Eustass Kidd defeated Big Mom. The ending of the Wano arc was a big shocker when Admiral Ryokugyu came to Wano to capture the pirates. But thanks to Shanks’ Conqueror’s Haki the admiral was quickly defeated.
One Piece
One Piece will soon enter its final saga, with the manga having already showcased several important revelations. Eiichiro Oda said that after the Wano arc, he would draw the biggest war in One Piece history.
The fans have started with their speculations, with Red Hair Shanks being the last person who will fight Monkey D. Luffy for the One Piece. If that happens, it will give a clear answer to the question of who is stronger – Shanks or Luffy.
