Despite the success, there are some significant obstacles that the adaptation would face, the major one being Gear 5, which is the most iconic moment in One Piece, and it would take up to a decade for it to bring to life action and more than a dozen seasons, which may or may not happen at all.

One Piece live-action will need a lot of seasons to get to the good part of the story
One Piece live-action season one was the epitome of perfection and the best live-action of all time, and its success speaks volumes for it.
The series became one of the top 5 most trendy TV shows worldwide and was #1 in 84 countries during its airing.
Despite the malevolent success the series has experienced, it is bound to face difficulties in the future.

Luffy’s Gear 5
One Piece Manga has over 1000+ chapters and is still far from ending. The series’ most iconic moment so far is Gear 5.
As for the One Piece live-action, the story has just begun, and it would take almost 10+ seasons to reach Gear 5 alone.
The gap between the live-action and the manga/anime storyline is too big, and the series has only been renewed for a second season.
To reach the most exciting point of the series, Netflix’s One Piece live-action needs to surpass the record for the show with the most seasons, which is currently held by Grace and Frankie, which has seven seasons.

How many seasons will One Piece live-action have?
One Piece live-action aired in 2023, and confirmation for the second season has already been issued on Netflix’s YouTube channel.
Although the announcement has been issued to the audience, the release date has not been briefed, and it is safe to say that it will take a few years before the series returns, considering the time it took to produce season one.
The directors have already confirmed that with the amount of source material they have, the show can go on for 12+ seasons.

It is important to remember that One Piece live-action is a very expensive show, and each episode costs more than $15 million to make, which is a hefty amount.
If the series’ profits decline in the upcoming season, Netflix might be forced to pull the trigger on the franchise, but as of now, the series is enjoying commendable commercial success. The series is currently being streamed on Netflix.
