Coronation Street star Lisa George hinted at her departure from the soap in September – and revealed her dreams of starring in some hit BBC shows.
It emerged on Friday this week that the actress, 50, had reportedly decided to leave the cobbles to pursue ‘new challenges’ after first making her debut as Beth Tinker in 2011.
But it seems Lisa had an inkling she may not be staying with the ITV soap as she was waiting three months ago for bosses to sign her up again.
‘I’m just waiting to hear if I get another contract,’ she told the Daily Star at the time.
Meanwhile, Lisa named the popular BBC dramas she would like to star in as she told how she’s a fan of series that are set in the past.

She said: ‘I’m really interested in the war stuff because my grandad talked about the war all the time. So I’d love to do a 1940s drama. Or something set in the 60s would be amazing.
‘I would love to do Call The Midwife. And I watched Ten Pound Poms and loved it. A role in something like that would be amazing.’
News broke of Lisa’s departure from Corrie on Friday, with the screen star having been part of the cast for 13 years.
According to The Sun, Lisa’s exit storyline will air over the summer and will be ‘as dramatic as she is’.
A source said: ‘Lisa has been on Corrie for a long time and she’s had some great storylines.
‘She’s become a firm fan favourite with her comedy scenes but has had viewers sobbing in heartbreaking plots like Sinead’s death.
‘She loves Corrie and it’s in her bones but she feels now is the right time to move on and take on new challenges.’
MailOnline has contacted a representative for Coronation Street for comment.

Beth originally arrived on the cobbles as a love interest for Stee McDonald, but soon formed a romance with Kirk Sutherland.
Her family soon became engrained in Weatherfield, with her son Craig becoming a police officer, and her niece Sinead tragically dying of cancer.
It comes just days after it was reported that longtime star Alex Bain had also decided to bid farewell to Corrie.
The actor, 22, has played Simon Barlow since he was seven years old and is set to depart in an explosive storyline in the summer.
Alex, who became a father in real life in 2018, is said to be ‘very excited’ to move on from the ITV soap opera.
A source told The Sun: ‘Alex is sad to be leaving Coronation Street because it really is like a family — but he realises that the time is right to move on. He’s very excited about the future and other opportunities.’
Alex has been involved in a number of controversial storylines while on the Cobbles and won the British Soap Award for Best Young Actor in 2011 and scooped up another gong in 2014 at the Inside Soap Awards.

On Boxing Day, Chris Gascoyne said farewell to Corrie after 23 years as Peter Barlow.
In scenes from Boxing day, Peter and his wife Carla began rowing as Peter accused his wife of trying to get rid of him.
After a tense and emotional heart-to-heart, Carla persuaded Peter to join his friend Mickey on his yacht, reasoning that they would be better off apart from each other and ending their toxic relationship.
Then came the time for Peter’s emotional farewells with his family but disaster struck when his son Simon (Alex Bain) was nowhere to be found, with Peter forced to run off and catch the tram without getting the chance to say goodbye.
