Before performing Cry Me a River before the crowd of Las Vegas on Wednesday night, Justin Timberlake said, “No disrespect.” However, that could be triggering for his ex Britney Spears. Also, the second single from his debut solo album Justified contained lyrics reflecting the unfaithfulness of a woman, which was further enhanced in the music video featuring a girl resembling Spears.

As the feud escalated again, Spears went on to reveal a big secret of Timberlake. “I never mentioned how I beat him in basketball and he would cry … no disrespect !!!” she shared via Instagram.

While playing a Truth or Dare game in 1993, Spears and Timberlake kissed for the first time, “we played a game of Truth or Dare, and someone dared Justin to kiss me. A Janet Jackson song was playing in the background as he leaned in and kissed me,” Spears wrote in her memoir.

Later in 1999, the duo had been in a relationship and living together and could be seen in public on numerous occasions. In March 2002, a report from TMZ claimed that Spears was unfaithful to Timberlake, and soon they broke up. In December 2002, Timberlake dropped Cry Me A River, seemingly for obvious reasons.

The feud between the singers has been the talk of the town for several years after their break-up. When a New York Times documentary Framing Britney Spears was released, it reflected a part of their relationship. Following the release of the documentary, Timberlake took to Instagram to apologize to Spears after a huge public backlash.

“I am deeply sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn or did not speak up for what was right. I understand that I fell short in these moments and in many others and benefited from a system that condones misogyny and racism.

I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson both individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed,” Timberlake wrote on the platform.

The singer went on to say, “I want to take accountability for my own missteps in all of this as well as be part of a world that uplifts and supports.” He further promised to be a better man. However, the feud appears to be far from ending as both the stars are spilling beans on each other.
