Emily’s mum Kate, who is an actress, singer and impressionist, shared her delight over her daughter’s happy news.

She re-shared Emily’s black and white baby announcement photo and gushed: “My baby having a baby. Could not be more thrilled if I tried.”

The mum and daughter duo have a close relationship and the pair are often featured in each other’s social media.

Emily shared the happy news with her fans on Saturday.

In an emotional post, she wrote: “Hello Everyone, it’s been a little while but I’m back with some news. I’m delighted to share with you all that we’re having a baby!!

“I’ve never been so happy and utterly terrified at the same time. Please go easy on me. Every day is mixed with thrill, fear, joy, hysteria, topped off with a lot of vomiting – a bit like when you’ve just stepped off of the Oblivion at Alton Towers on a hangover.”

Emily went on to talk about how her pregnancy has made her appreciate her body more and she is trying to treat it with care as a child grows inside her.

Although she was only pictured with the dad for the first time in September, the star has actually kept her pregnancy under wraps for five months.

This means she is expecting her first child with Dr Alistair Garner in April.

Emily managed to keep her exciting news a secret until she felt ready to share it with the public.

The first hint that something was up came when she disappeared from Instagram.

At the time the former I’m A Celebrity participant said she was taking a break from social media to “focus on actual real life” after having a “hell of a year”.

Emily’s mum Kate first found fame as a singer and represented the UK in the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest as part of the band Prima Donna.

She is also an actress and starred in the soap opera Crossroads.

Kate is perhaps best known for her long stint in the political satire show Spitting Image, which focused on parodying major figures in the 1980s.

She has appeared in a number of other TV shows including comedy Dinnerladies, Citizen Khan, Holby City and most recently Coronation Street.
