Nicolas Cage makes stunning revelations about his Superman cameo in The Flash.

The Flash starring Ezra Miller was one of the summer’s most anticipated releases, not just for the loved DC superhero, but also for the star cameo appearances in the film. Apart from Michael Keaton who reprised his role as Batman, fans were thrilled to see Oscar-winner Nicolas Cage feature as Superman in the climax.

While it is common knowledge that Cage’s cameo in the film was a nod to his unrealized Superman project with Tim Burton, the actor shocked his fans by confessing that his scene in the climax was completely different from what he was called upon to do on screen. The Ghost Rider star’s revelation added further woes to the film, which had already failed at the box office with mixed reviews.

Nicolas Cage Opened Up About His Appearance In The Flash

Despite The Flash failing to live up to its high expectations, the film was keenly anticipated for the guest appearances by a few big Hollywood stars. On top of the list was Nicolas Cage, who featured as Superman in the climax of the film, thereby paying tribute to the character he was supposed to play in Tim Burton’s version of Superman. The actor though, stirred up a big debate by revealing that the scene did not pan out the way he thought it would.

In an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, Cage touched upon the controversial topic of AI and its increasing dominance in creative spaces. While on the subject, the Oscar winner revealed that, though he was physically present on the set as Superman without any AI technology being used, the scene took a completely different turn visually, when he saw it on screen. Elaborating on what he thought happened, Cage said,
“When I went to the picture, it was me fighting a giant spider. I did not do that. That was not what I did. I don’t think it was [created by] AI. I know Tim is upset about AI, as I am. It was CGI, OK, so that they could de-age me, and I’m fighting a spider. I didn’t do any of that, so I don’t know what happened there.”
The actor also explained that he was present on set for just over an hour, and conveyed only the feelings of loss and sadness that he was supposed to embody in the climax. Cage ended the interview on a positive note by lauding the use of famous costume designer Colleen Atwood’s original Superman suit which she had created for Tim Burton’s film.

WB paid him just to use his likeness 💀

This scene literally did nothing for the film.

All the legacy characters in No Way Home actually served the story & helped shape Tom Holland’s Spider-Man on the right path.

Seeing all these universes & CGI caricatures in The Flash just took away from all the tension & focus.

The over reliance on CGI and visual effects has ruined filmmaking.

An abomination of a film. No one should be shocked at this. Wild

So wait, he actually went to set and filmed something, but it all got replaced with CGI? Huh? pic.twitter.com/b11LmOPUX5
