Both Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce and Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce believe that Florida State got robbed in the College Football Playoff.
FSU went undefeated this season and won the ACC Championship, but a one-loss Alabama team was picked ahead of them. The CFP committee said that an injury to Seminoles quarterback Jordan Travis was mainly why they were not included.
‘I don’t know that there is a right answer to this because, in my hard of hearts, I think the SEC champion should be in the college football playoffs,’ Jason said on the latest episode of the New Heights podcast. ‘Because the SEC is by far the best conference in football
‘So I think its not fair, in my mind, to leave an SEC champion out of the playoffs. This is the problem with the playoff situation – no matter how many teams you have, there’s going to be somebody, usually, that has a case for being in it. This year, very high case for Florida State.
‘The biggest reason I have an issue with this is I just don’t like the reason they gave for Florida State not being included… I don’t care.

Jason Kelce does not like the reason why Florida State is out of the College Football Playoff

FSU went undefeated, but injuries to Jordan Travis led the committee to leaving them home
Did Florida State earn the right to go into the playoffs? I don’t care who’s their quarterback now. I don’t care who their coach is now. That team and that group of players – did they earn the right to go there?
‘The reason they gave, I don’t think it’s a fair one. And I mean, if their backup quarterback is Nick Foles, it might lead to some magic happening there in the playoffs of college football.
He added, ‘Listen, everybody in there is deserving and it sucks that Florida State’s getting left out. I’d be pretty pissed if I was a Florida State fan, there’s no question about it.
‘Or a Florida State player, I’d be furious. I’m on the team, I just did all of these games, we as a team won them, and now all of a sudden you’re gonna say that we don’t get in because one of our players is out so we’re no longer in it. I don’t think that’s right.
‘Either way I hope they’re all good games… sorry to all you Florida State fans out there, you’re getting f***ed.

Travis Kelce agreed with his brother, calling the committee’s reasoning a ‘whack a** excuse’
‘If I was a player there, I would be pretty f***in’ pissed,’ Travis said. ‘It’s whack, it’s whack, whack a** excuse.
‘But damn, I’m ready for these College Football Playoffs man. I think this is probably about as even as its been across the board since they started this thing up.’
The College Football Playoff semifinals take place on New Year’s Day.
No. 4 Alabama takes on No. 1 Michigan in the Rose Bowl before No. 3 Texas plays No. 2 Washington in the Sugar Bowl.
