The former third-round pick has been waived for the third time in his career
A TOUCHDOWN in Week 11 has not proven to be enough to save the job of one NFL running back.
Darrell Henderson may have scored his second touchdown of the season for the Los Angeles Rams during their 17-16 win over the Seattle Seahawks, but Sean McVay’s team still opted to let him go on Tuesday.

Henderson’s release came as the Rams reportedly expect Kyren Williams to return imminently from Injured Reserve.
Speaking to the media on Monday, McVay confirmed that Williams is expected back this week.
He said: “It will be great to be able to get him back. His productivity, his play energy, his overall just presence. He’s a guy that we’ve missed.
“Think a lot of guys have done a good job stepping up in his absence.”
Later on Monday, in the latest episode of The Coach McVay Show on the Rams’ YouTube channel, McVay explained how Williams was “excited” to return, adding that he had “put a lot of work in” and that his return would “add a big boost to our offense.”
As for Henderson, this brutal blow marked the third time in his five-year NFL career that he’s been released by a team.
Selected in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Memphis, Henderson, 26, began his career as Todd Gurley’s backup.
The Rams subsequently switched to more of a committee approach, with Henderson taking on a larger role for the next two seasons.
During this period he rushed for 1,312 yards and ten touchdowns in 27 games.
He also appeared in the Rams’ Super Bowl LVI win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Henderson’s role declined in 2022 and he was eventually waived in November, leading to a brief spell with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
A return to LA followed this season, with Henderson bouncing between the practice squad and the active roster.
In four games this year, Henderson has rushed for 46 yards and two touchdowns.
He now re-enters free agency having earned just over $4.8 million to date.
