San Antonio Spurs rookie meets NFL icon and Michael Rubin in New York ahead of Knicks game

TOM Brady rarely came up short in his legendary NFL career.

But the New England Patriots icon was towered by 7-foot-4 basketball phenom Victor Wembanyama during a meeting this week in New York City.

The NFL legend, who is 6-foot-4, posted a photo with the San Antonio Spurs rookie on Instagram – and the height difference was staggering.

“Awesome to meet you. Incredible young man,” Brady wrote.

“Usually I’d make some joke here about how I think I could get 10 and 10 against you, but let’s be real…you’d send my jumper into the club level.”

Brady could not resist using the opportunity to take a friendly dig at former Patriots teammate Julian Edelman, who is 5-foot-10.

“P.S. [Julian Edelman], this is how you felt all those years???” the NFL icon added.

Edelman, who won three Super Bowls alongside Brady, was clearly stung by the cheap shot.

He replied with the “I am dead inside” GIF featuring The Office character Michael Scott.

The former NFL quarterback also shared an image on Twitter where he and Wembanyama were the same height.

He joked: “Media outlets asking for permission to use this photo. Yes you may, here is the file.

“Disregard other photoshopped images of me and Victor.”

Alongside Brady, Wembanyama also met with Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin during his off day in New York.

The Frenchman has a memorabilia and trading card deal with Rubin’s sports collectible company.

Wembanyama gifted Rubin a signed jersey from his French team, Metropolitans 92.

“Future goat, goat, and munchkin,” Rubin joked on social media.

“P.S thanks @wemby for the incredible jersey much love.”

Brady commented on Rubin’s post: “Thanks for having us! You kept me up past my bedtime… again!”

Wembanyama’s Spurs take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET.
