Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool 3 is less than a year away from release. As such, rumors and speculations continue to appear on the internet regarding its plot and the appearance of other characters from the X-Men world. A new rumor from X user X-Men Updates states that the villain Toad who was in the first X-Men film and X-Men: Days of Future Past will appear in the film.

Although it is an interesting character to put to bring all the past X-Men characters back together, it will be sort of repetitive to see the same villain and the team fighting again. Emma Corrin’s main villain should be the larger threat of the film and playing a character like Cassandra Nova or Lady Deadpool can raise the stakes for all the X-Men team and Deadpool himself. Even if Toad appears, he shouldn’t be the major focus of the film.

Emma Corrin was confirmed to play the lead villain in Deadpool 3 and they will square off against Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. Corrin expressed their excitement of working on a superhero film and playing a villain which they had never done before. Corrin told Empire Magazine,
“I feel really excited to play a villain. I haven’t done that, and it’s an itch I want to scratch. I’d heard about the project but, classic Marvel, they couldn’t tell me anything about it. Absolutely nothing. Zilch. So I met [Shawn] being like, ‘I don’t know what this is about’. Hands up, I’m not a Marvel person. I’ve watched ‘Spider-Man’ and ‘Black Panther.’ I was like, ‘Look, you’re gonna have to debrief me into this.’ It’s such an intricate world.

There’s so much to it, it’s an absolute mindfuck. All the language and the Easter eggs, and this person is related to that person who did this, and this person came back and this person’s dead… it’s amazing. I really understand why it means as much as it does to so many people. It’s a phenomenon, and I feel really lucky to be part of it. Especially Deadpool, because I love the fact that it’s self-aware and critical of its own inner-workings.”
It remains to be seen how much threat and destruction Corrin’s villain (which is kept secret as of now) causes to the Marvel Universe. Deadpool 3 is scheduled to be released in theatres on May 3, 2024. Corrin’s latest work is the romantic drama Lady Chatterley’s Lover which is streaming on Netflix.
