Tennis great Novak Djokovic takes inspiration from his longtime friend Tom Brady.
Novak Djokovic, the champion tennis player from Serbia, recently disclosed his plans to extend his career even longer by following in the footsteps of his good friend Tom Brady.
NFL great Tom Brady managed to dominate the sport until earlier this year when he announced his retirement. The American football quarterback played 23 seasons in the National Football League, winning seven Super Bowls for the two teams he played for before throwing in the towel.
With proper rest and recovery, the 46-year-old managed to play until the age of 45, therefore inspiring the tennis great to follow in his footsteps.
Let's see, you know. Tom Brady is a great example of a champion in his sport. He's somebody who has had such a great career and longevity. He has put a lot of hours, a lot of time, into self care and recovery, making sure that every aspect of his body and mind is covered so that he can have a long-lasting and successful career. Why stop when you are still playing great? I'll keep going and take it one by one and see how far I go.
Said Djokovic in an interview on The Express Times via Express.co
He also acknowledges Brady’s efforts in his own self-care to prolong his career. With a personal bond between them, Djokovic also said that he learned a lot from the NFL great and his friend and hopes to have a fruitful career like the footballer who is over the age of 40.
Novak Djokovic’s several years old friendship with Tom Brady
Good friends Tom Brady and Novak Djokovic go way back, as both of these people are often seen cheering on one another at their respective games. Even at the 2023 Roland Garros, the NFL great was seen present in Djokovic’s box alongside his wife, Jelena Djokovic.
Later on, Brady tried to make it in time for the Serb’s US Open game but missed it due to family reasons. However, he enlightened the court with his presence during Daniil Medvedev’s game.

With 2024 advancing faster than normal, all the players are gearing up for their new season. Novak Djokovic is also heading into the year with a huge goal in mind: to win all four Grand Slam titles along with a gold in the Olympics.
The new season will begin its Australian leg in late December at the United Cup, where the Serb will represent his country before defending his title at the Australian Open. With big names like Rafael Nadal entering this year’s Open, the competition got that much harder for the Serbian to try and defend against.
