Scobie previously bragged about having the inside scoop about who the royal racist is

SCANDAL hit the royals last year as author Omid Scobie “accidentally named” members of the family in his Endgame book implying they were racist.

However, royal author Tom Bower has now claimed that Meghan Markle “fed” Omid the identities of the individuals.

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, the Sussexes alleged an unnamed member of the Royal Family spoke about their son’s skin colour – a story which appears to have changed a number of times.

Endgame claims that the Duchess of Sussex named two family members in private letters she wrote to the King.

While UK laws prevented him naming names in the English versions of Endgame, the names were included in the Dutch version, which were quickly pulled from shelves.

Tom claimed to Closer: “There’s no doubt in my mind that she fed him [Omid] those two names.”

Scobie previously bragged about having the inside scoop about who the royal racist is.

In an interview with Good Morning he said: “I do know who made the comments about Archie’s skin colour.

“The names were mentioned in letters between Meghan and Charles that were exchanged sometime after the Oprah interview.

“We know from sources that Charles was horrified that that’s how Meghan felt.

“Those conversations were, and that he wanted to, sort of as a representative for the family, have that conversation with her.

“And it is why I personally think they have been able to move forward with some kind of line of communication afterwards. Though they may not see eye to eye on it.”

Early copies of Scobie’s poison-filled Endgame published in the Netherlands suggested Princess Kate and King Charles were the two Royals who had made remarks about the skin colour of Harry and Meghan’s first child, Prince Archie.

Tom claimed that the stories don’t quite add up about the “racist royals”.

He said: “But it didn’t make sense.

“She told Oprah that there was one conversation and there was no conversation between Charles, Kate and Harry right at the beginning of their relationship.

“It was Charles and Camilla.”

No evidence has ever been produced for the controversial incident and Harry subsequently said there was no allegation of “racism”.

Instead, they have focused on “unconscious bias” in the Royal Family.

Omid has since refused to apologise over his book and has repeatedly tried to defend himself in interviews, insisting he never named the royals in his writing.

In one interview he was close to tears as he denied he was just a mouthpiece for Meghan and Prince Harry and claimed he was a victim of unfair treatment.

He claims that he isn’t pals with the duchess but has “mutual friends” who help with information for his books.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to be hoping for a fresh start this year, after backlash last year for their Netflix documentary and Harry’s bombshell biography Spare.

However, royal expert Phil Dampier told Fabulous that “redemption” is unlikely for the Sussexes.
