The 6-foot-7 small forward last played for the Phoenix Suns and was a free agent.
“I think now that especially some time has passed…yeah, I think I’m done bro,” he said on the T. Ross Podcast.
“I think I’ve got all the basketball out of me.”
Ross said he came to the decision after he started getting hurt a lot and “weird injuries.”
“I just want to be at home with the kids,” he added.
“I missed so many holidays, so many birthdays, so many family events.
“I’m starting to see how much I love being at home and playing the dad role and being a part of my family.”
Ross was selected with the No. 8 pick by the Raptors in the 2012 NBA Draft.
He quickly distinguished himself as an expert dunker, winning the NBA All-Star Slam Dunk contest in his rookie season.
Ross tied a Raptors franchise mark by scoring a career-high 51 points against the Los Angeles Clippers in 2014.
He remains one of only five players to reach the 50-point mark in Raptors’ history.
Ross was traded to the Magic in 2017 before spending his final season with the Suns last campaign.
The veteran received an offer to play abroad in Serbia but turned it down.
Ross earned around $92 million during the course of his career and now has his own podcast.
