The trade will reportedly see four former first-round picks moved

NBA fans have given their brutal verdict on the latest reported blockbuster trade.

It was reported on Saturday that the Toronto Raptors had agreed on a multi-player deal that would see OG Anunoby head for the New York Knicks.

Both Anunoby and Precious Achiuwa will reportedly head for New York with RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley making the move north of the border, as per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Toronto is also set to receive a 2024 second-round draft pick from the Knicks, via the Detroit Pistons, Wojnarowski added.

But fans were left unconvinced on X, formerly known as Twitter.

One such fan commented: “Knicks got fleeced.

As a second said: “RAPTORS LOWKEY FLEECED.”

Meanwhile, a third suggested: “Raptors need to be investigated for this robbery.”

A sentiment another clearly agreed with, adding: “NAH THIS IS HIGHWAY ROBBERY.”

A member of the Raptors’ 2019 NBA Championship-winning team, Anunoby has called Toronto home since he was drafted 23rd overall back in 2017.

Named a 2023 All-Defensive Second-Teamer, the 26-year-old London-born forward also led the league in steals last season.

Anunoby will reportedly be joined in New York by Quickley, a fellow former first-round pick who was named an All-Rookie Second-Teamer in 2021.

Quickley had made 30 appearances for the 12-19 Raptors this season – all of which came off the bench – averaging a career-high 15 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.

Moving in the opposite direction, 2019 third-overall pick Barrett will look to continue his solid form this season.

In 26 starts so far, he had averaged 18.2 points per game, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists on a career-low 29.5-minute average.

As for Achiuwa, another ex-first-rounder, he will likely be targeting a starting spot having come off the bench 25 times for New York this year.

He has averaged 7.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists to date.
