Mahershala Ali Has Tried To Quit Blade Before
A report by Variety recently uncovered all the controversial and conflicted things going over in the MCU right now. With Jonathan Majors’ scandal in the mix, Kevin Feige wants to change the narrative of the MCU and in doing so, he is alleged to have neglected all other smaller projects…including Mahershala Ali’s Blade reboot.
Kevin Feige
Mahershala Ali threatened to walk out of the MCU and that’s when Kevin Feige hired Michael Green, the screenwriter known for writing the 2017 hit, Logan. As per the article, Feige wants to make the film under a budget of $100 million instead of the usual extra expenditure. There are also rumors that Kevin Feige might just pull the plug on the whole project if it doesn’t seem worthwhile.
Mahershala Ali Also Has Some Controversial Words To His Name
Mahershala Ali in House of Cards (2013 – 2018)
Known for starring in Green Book and Moonlight, Mahershala Ali has been known around the world as quite a renowned actor. With such iconic roles to his name, the actor had once told GQ that “black people need to have a certain level of dexterity”.
“I think that black people to a degree need to have a certain level of dexterity. If we want to be at the highest level of whatever our field is, we have to be able to navigate both worlds. We all just know that you gotta be able to put that suit on and have a conversation with people that don’t look like you or your family.”
With rewrites and changing tides, Ali’s Blade reboot is currently slated for a release date of 14 February 2025 in theaters across the U.S. (if no controversies occur in the MCU).
