Unfortunately, to the disappointment of some fans, this revelation ultimately turned out to be untrue. Is There Any Terminator Sequel in the Works?

So are there any Terminator sequels in the works? The franchise’s past ventures have been nothing short of legendary. With each release surpassing its predecessor at the box office, well at least the first three films of the franchise did.

Eventually, Schwarzenegger stopped appearing as the cyborg assassin on screen, leaving fans longing for his return. Recently, the actor shared his perspective on the franchise and addressed whether he would consider returning or not, he revealed to The Hollywood Reporter,
“The franchise is not done. I’m done. I got the message loud and clear that the world wants to move on with a different theme when it comes to The Terminator. Someone has to come up with a great idea. The Terminator was largely responsible for my success, so I always would look at it very fondly. The first three movies were great. Number four [Salvation] I was not in because I was governor. Then five [Genisys] and six [Dark Fate] didn’t close the deal as far as I’m concerned. We knew that ahead of time because they were just not well written.”

While the poster might be fake, fans certainly can’t rule out the possibility of the franchise returning with or without the star. However, the potential inclusion of Margot Robbie and Henry Cavill is still up for debate. In a SmartLess podcast interview, James Cameron stated,
“If I were to do another ‘Terminator’ film and maybe try to launch that franchise again, which is in discussion, but nothing has been decided, I would make it much more about the AI side of it than bad robots gone crazy.”
With all the AI frenzy, Cameron feels that now is the most appropriate time to revive the franchise. While there’s currently no confirmed information about any ongoing work, fans can anticipate news or developments in the years to come.

All Terminator movies are available on Apple TV for rent.
