NFL superstar explains why he has ‘fun in fashion’

TRAVIS Kelce has been scoring as many style points as touchdowns in recent months.

Now the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is looking to capitalize on his newfound fame – and interest in his fits – with his luxury fashion line.

When Kelce launched the Tru Kolors brand in 2019, it was well-received but drew little mainstream attention.

Since he started dating Taylor Swift, the company has been given a new lease of life.

Kelce has even secured a joint capsule collaboration with the Chiefs.

Inspired by vintage ’90s sports gear, Tru Kolors sells athleisure products, such as T-shirts, hoodies, matching sweaters and sweatpants, and hats.

“I have fun in fashion,” Kelce told Forbes.

“I love to pick a different outfit every single day.”

The name Tru Kolors is a play on Kelce’s TK initials and is a term that celebrates individuality and diversity.

“I just want everybody to feel comfortable in who they are,” he added.

“…and showing their true colors and then appreciating everybody’s colors along the way.”

Kelce is hands-on at Tru Kolors – he examines fabric samples, color swatches, and even the stitching.

“The details matter,” Kelce said.

“I have a lot of fun creating, especially with the different types of fabrics you can have, different types of looks.”

Tru Kolors is poised to reach another level of success thanks to the partnership with the Chiefs, released in time for the holiday season.

The collaboration consists of three items: a light gray hoodie and sweatpants with various logos, a black mesh button down shirt with Chiefs emblazoned on it, and an AFC Archive T-shirt celebrating the Chiefs’ recent conference wins.

NFL fans reacted to the drop with huge enthusiasm.

“Swifties be eating this up,” one fan said.

“What can’t this man do,” another said.

“On his business man era,” a third added.

Kelce recently said he is thinking about retiring from the NFL “more than anyone could ever imagine.”

During a recent bombshell interview, the Chiefs star admitted that his injuries have taken a toll on his body.

In total, Kelce has undergone 10 surgeries in his career after suffering issues with his shoulder, back, and ankle.

“That’s the only thing I’ve never really been open about, the discomfort. The pain,” Kelce told The Wall Street Journal.

“The lingering injuries – the 10 surgeries I’ve had that I still feel every single surgery to this day.”

It now seems that fashion could play a big part of his life once Kelce leaves the NFL.

“When it came down to what I wanted to do outside of sports, I just kind of naturally gravitated to fashion,” Kelce said.
