Henry Cavill, initially planned to join the military if his acting career didn’t flourish.
Henry Cavill is pretty candid in her interviews about his interests and aspirations. Fans of the Man of Steel actor are aware of all that interests the star, be it the fantasy novels he reads, or his obsession with Warhammer 40k. Another thing that Cavill has been pretty open about is his admiration of the British Armed Forces
Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes
Cavill is the longest-serving ambassador of the Royal Marines Charity. The RMC is a British organization that looks after retired and serving Royal Marines and their families. Cavill not only serves as an ambassador to the army but also has a personal connection to the Marine Corps.
Henry Cavill originally wanted to join the Royal Marines

Like his brother, Colonel Niki Richard Dalgliesh Cavill, who currently serves in the Royal Marines, Cavill had endeavored to serve in the Marines as well. The actor has gone on record several times to say that he would have joined the military if his acting career had somehow fallen through.
The actor, now 40 years old, is too old to join the military, and it is safe to say that his acting career has taken off splendidly. Playing roles as Superman for the DCEU under Zack Snyder, Geralt of Rivia for Netflix’s adaptation of The Witcher, and Sherlock Holmes for Netflix’s hit detective series Enola Holmes, the actor’s aspiration to serve his country in the armed forces might never see the light day. However, this does not mean that he cannot help out in whatever little way he can.
Henry Cavill linked up with Omaze to raise money for the Royal Marines
Henry Cavill’s Omaze Campaign
Henry Cavill, among his many endeavors to support the Royal Marines, teamed up with Omaze in 2017. The objective was to get donations for the RMC, by entering a competition organised by Omaze. The winner of this competition would win a Champagne toast with Cavill on in London and will be allowed to be accompanied by a companion.
This undertaking ended up raising $142400, which was donated in its entirety to the Royal Marines. Apart from such endeavors, Cavill also routinely undertakes challenges and courses organized by the RMA, to show his support and admiration for the armed forces of Britain.
