Actor Anthony Mackie once defended fellow actor Tom Cruise’s explosive rant on the sets of a Mission: Impossible movie back in 2020. Cruise was in the spotlight in 2020 after he scolded crew members on the sets of Mission: Impossible 7 at Warner Bros. Studios in Hertfordshire, UK.

Cruise reportedly caught two members not following the Covid-19 protocols and that ticked him off. Several stars in Hollywood defended the actor, including Anthony Mackie, who claimed that Cruise was saving the life of an old black actor on the sets. It was revealed that 5 crew members quit after hearing Cruise’s explosive rant.

Back in 2020, a video went viral in which actor Tom Cruise could be seen yelling at the crew who were working on Mission: Impossible 7. At one point in the video, the actor says,
“They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us. We are creating thousands of jobs, you motherf***ers. I don’t ever want to see it again! Ever! If I see you do it again, you’re f***ing gone.”
As per sources, the actor got mad after he saw two members of the crew not following the Covid-19 protocols on the set.

In an interview with The Times, actor Anthony Mackie defended Tom Cruise’s explosive rant. Mackie said,

“Tom Cruise was 100 percent right and more people need to be yelling and screaming and enraged by the idea that some people aren’t taking Covid seriously. Look at it this way, Ving Rhames is a sixtysomething-year-old black man, and Covid has killed an exponentially large amount of older black people. So, if someone’s going to bring Covid to the set and give it to Ving Rhames he’s at high risk of not surviving.”
Ving Rhames has portrayed IMF agent and computer specialist Luther Stickell in seven Mission: Impossible movies and reprised his role in the next part, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, which was recently released.

George Clooney also supported Tom Crusie

Actor George Clooney also gave his opinions on Tom Cruise’s rant, stating that his reaction was valid because that was a major issue. Clooney said,
“He didn’t overreact because it is a problem,” adding, “I understand why he did it. He’s not wrong at all about that.”
Filming movies with Covid-19 protocols was a huge task. The entertainment industry suffered a lot, however, now things have started to gain traction again.
