One thing that the retired NFL legend can’t handle is being called “soft,” and he made sure everyone knows that. Over the course of two brilliant decades in the NFL, Tom Brady came across a zillion criticisms, but not once did he attempt to overwrought a response. But this time, things seem different!

In a recent conversation with sports analyst Stephen A. Smith, the former New England Patriots called today’s NFL “filled with mediocrity,” referring to bad coaching and the development of young players. Though, he didn’t stop there.

Brady continued his polemic when he appeared in the latest episode of ‘Let’s Go!’ podcast. The 5-time Super Bowl MVP claimed he is perceived as “soft” for complaining to the officials about the hits and tackles from the opponents’ side.

The NFL legend said as he couldn’t control himself from striking back:

Everyone thinks I was a p***y out there. I took every single [hit] and got my ass up. I never wanted a defensive player saying ‘I knocked the shit out of him and he didn’t get up’ so I made sure I got up.

Indeed, Brady spoke facts when he said that. As he led the Patriots to their six Super Bowl victories, establishing himself as the ‘GOAT’ quarterback at a young age. The legend retired from the NFL after 23 dominating seasons, winning seven Super Bowls (6 Patriots, 1 Buccaneers) and five MVP titles.

Could Tom Brady be returning to the NFL?

After leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a Super Bowl win in 2021, the legendary quarterback retired from the NFL in 2022 at the age of 45. However, this passion for football remains evergreen. Brady has also shown interest in English football ( also known as soccer), as he invested in the Birmingham City football team. But nothing seems as good as the NFL for him. As the quarterback claimed on his social media that he is willing to return to the field.

However, there’s a catch as former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson suggested a proposition to make the Pro Bowl more interesting. He suggested featuring current NFL players face-off against the retired legends. Though it’s highly unlikely to happen, Brady’s response was:

Give me Chad and Randy on the outside and we're putting up 35 next week.

It seems like the retired quarterback sure has a yearning to come back and enjoy the feeling of competing on the football field again. Although his return to the field isn’t sure, he is going to be in the booth next season.
