With the Marvel Cinematic Universe stepping into the world of the Multiverse, the possibilities of what they can do have become endless. They have many different plans for what they can do, in terms of storylines and characters to be, but this, however, has not stopped fans from speculating about the possibility of older actors, who were part of past movies, coming back to reprise their roles.

Will Joe Manganiello Return to Marvel After Playing Deathstroke?

Around the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Joe Manganiello who played Flash Thompson in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man franchise, was asked if he was also returning to the movie alongside Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx, the only stars who had been confirmed to appear in the movie or be appearing as a new character. To this, Manganiello replied that he loved the idea of this, but only if his terms were met.

“It depends on what it consists of,” he mentioned, “I really want it to be the right role and I think sometimes you have to hold out for that right one. So, a little cameo as Flash Thompson, I’d rather do something more substantive —[play] someone who can stick around for a while.” 
The actor explained that he would only be returning if his character was there to stay for a while rather than doing a cameo as an older character only to never return again. He added that he would like to do something much more meaningful compared to a short appearance in a movie full of big reveals.

Joe Manganiello switched from his role in Spider-Man to being part of the DC Universe as Deathstroke in Zach Snyder’s Justice League. During Justice Con, the actor talked about how he feels about Marvel Studios. He mention how impressed he was with all that they have accomplished.

“With Sony doing Sinister Six, putting together their universe, the X-Men coming over to Disney, and the possibility of Secret Wars surfacing at some point in the future, I just think there are so many amazing characters in Marvel. I will say I was actually offered a part in a Marvel film a few years ago…I grew up on Marvel comics so if I was going to join the universe,” He stated.
He stated that he was excited to see what Marvel would be with Spider-Man: No Way Home and even expected the Sinister Six to appear in the movie. He was also impressed by all the crossovers and major plots that they had planned, mentioning that he has been a fan of Marvel comics growing up so to know that he had been part of this is something that he cherished dearly.
